Everybody is loving monochrome right now, and I have no problems with that what so ever! Black has always been one of my favourite colours when it comes to clothes, my whole wardrobe is basically black. I don't know why but I just feel like its such an interesting colour to play around with when it comes to style, especially when mixing it up with accessories! 

Everything on this clothes board I basically need in my life right now. It makes up such a perfect outfit for day wear when the sun is coming out and for a night out,so I'd pretty much be getting great value for money! Juju's are beautiful and I am a HUGE fan of jelly shoes, especially when they are layered up with frilly socks. I'm a sucker for frilly socks they are super cute and work so well when it comes to adding a girly hint to any outfit! The top and skirt are both from Motel Rocks, a place that I have loved for a very long time and I will always love. Who can blame me when they offer 20% off with Unidays?! The watch and bracelet are both simplistic but stick to the monochrome scheme which is both classy and fabulous at the same time! The bag is so lovely too, I'm a huge fan of oversized bags so a duffle style one this size is perfecto. Especially when I'm the sort of girl who pretty much throws everything from her room into her handbag! Terrible aren't I? But I doubt I'm the only girl who does that! The lipstick I feel brings the whole outfit together, I've never tried a lipstick so dark that it is practically black but it works so well with this. I'll defo be purchasing some, the darkest I've done is a blackish purple, but full black will be on my wish list when it comes to loan day!

Tiny Little Update

So lately you can probably tell I have been blogging like crazy! I guess that is down to the lack of employment in my life right now, I'm mainly concentrating on Uni work and trying to get the best out of my education rather than slaving away in retail for pointless stress and minimum wage! Luckily quite a few exciting things have happened in relation to things I never thought I'd be doing! I've never been keen in the whole journalism aspect of my degree but lately I've been trying to reach out to as much experience I can get my hands onto! I wrote an article for JOMAG which got published this morning which was kinda cute and have started writing for Bizzkube daily to enhance my experience! Also I met someone whilst I was out for the JOMEC ball and he offered me some marketing experience for a month in Cardiff which is exciting news!

I'm heading back to Birmingham in a week for Easter holidays and have so much work to do  before and during the holidays. I have one deadline due on the Wednesday coming up which is a methodology and I have no idea what on earth I am meant to be doing which is kind of scary! Everyone that day will be heading off to Varsity, which really isn't my cup of tea - in fact I think it is one of my biggest nightmares that come a long with University. I seriously was not cut out for the drunken university lifestyle that came along with moving away from home, not because I can't handle it cause I do love a good old boozing but it genuinely bores the shit out of me. Unless its somewhere that plays music that I actually like, listening to shit does my fucking head in (sorry for the foul language). So whilst everyone is at Varsity I will be the committed student that I am (ahem) and try to get my group up to date with our Social Media Project which are doing.

To be fair I haven't really told you much about the Social Media Project, but it is extremely exciting! We have come up with a dating app called 'Dopamine' whereby it is not judged on looks it is all personality comparability based. Getting to play around with Photoshop again has been really fun and getting my hands on programmes like In Design and GoMobile has been quite interesting. It has made me miss doing Graphic design at a level so much though, so it has encouraged me to start building up a portfolio again on the side.

I hope everyone's doing fine and overwhelming deadlines aren't taking over! The thing that is getting me through these stresses is the thought of how nice summer will be! Also I just realised this isn't a tiny update it's quite huggggee- apologies!

Pieminister

If theres one thing I could not imagine my life without it would have to be pie and mash. It is such an amazing combination and who ever came up with it deserves a medal. I absolutely love pie. I'm serious.

When I lived in Birmingham I was a huge fan of Urban Pie and constantly found myself craving pie through out my shifts at work. So bad I know, but it is delicious! So as soon as I found out Pieminister was opening in Cardiff I was excited at the potential of something opening that would allow me to get my pie fix. Today me and Ryan finally plucked up the courage to test the waters to see if it lived up to both our pie loving expectations. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a guy at the door who precisely said "I hate that I have to say this but we work just like Nandos". In doing so he pretty much meant that you pick your food and go up to the till to order your pie and sides if you fancy any. Quite straight forward I guess, and it saves you from feeling pressurised when a waiter turns up to your table every five minutes. I opted for the 'chicken of aragon' pie with a side of mash (of course) and gravy to drown my pie in. It was probably the most richest tasting pie that I have ever eaten. Price wise it isn't particularly cheap so me and my student budget unfortunately won't be visiting too often, but it is quite a nice place I suppose to go in when you feel like a change. I mean come on how many places can you go to that solely concentrate pies? Exactly - not many! The atmosphere is lovely there too which I guess is what you are paying for, theres quite a modern take on creating a homely setting which completes your pie eating experience! Anyone else a pie lover, or is it just me?!

Cardiff University JOMEC Ball

After hearing about the prospect of this ball I was super excited. Our course last year didn't really have much going on, and apparently it was known for being the most anti social thing about Cardiff University. This year however that has changed, there have been numerous socials and a fabulous ball that took place at the Cardiff National Museum last night.

I didn't realise how long it was going to take me to get ready for the ball, let me just say more than 2 hours. That though was perhaps because I feel asleep in the bath, and had a swollen eye which needed silly amounts of eyeliner reapplications to stop me looking like I'd been punched in the eye. Before you think it, no I didn't get in a fight. Imagine me in a fight? Oh dear! 

I was happy with my dress choice in the end, it was a lovely red one from Motel Rocks which I posted about not so long ago. I went for smokey eyes and bright red lips to match my dress, I didn't want to go too over the top because dressing this girly was daunting enough for me anyway! To suit this sophisticated approach of dress we decided to pre with a very expensive champagne with strawberries. Intoxicated, we thought moving onto the vodka and dirty bottles of some  shots would be a good idea. Trust me it wasn't a good idea. We turned up to the museum looking far from classy with the taxi driver blasting Sam and the Womp. How rock n roll of us...

The museum was a lovely venue and starting off with a champagne reception was more than okay with me. I do love a bit of champers. Who doesn't?! The food was also fabulous, my favorite course being the desert which was a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. My mouth is watering thinking about it now! As the night went on we all thought it would be a wise idea to mix as many drinks as possible, and let me just tell you that it did feel extremely weird being drunk in a museum at night! It's all part of the fun though I guess! Later on we headed to Glam, which is not exactly my fave place to go to because I always feel so out of place and uncomfortable there. But the copious amounts of champagne and good company took my concentration away from the shit music that they play. Oh and so did the Dj playing Green Day. Anyway, that is enough of my ramblings and I am definitely paying for the large amounts of alcohol consumption but here are a few snaps!

The Ragged Priest

After browsing on Instagram, I couldn't help to notice this clothing company pop up in my feed. We're all used to trusty old websites like Miss-Guided which have admittedly gained a lot of popularity. There's nothing wrong with this at all even I love a cheeky little browse on there, but often it is nice to explore something different. So as soon as I saw images of a fresh new company all over my Instagram feed, I was buzzing from excitement. Who are they, I hear you ask. They are The Ragged Priest. 

Their Instagram has left me lusting over pretty much everything. All their clothing seems to be completely out there and different whilst still on trend - which is absolutely fab! They offer vintage treats which is perfecto for you vintage lovers - especially when they are this nice! Plus the effortlessly cool approach that The Ragged Priest have has seriously drawn me in. Which other clothing stores get away with the option of letting shoppers view "New Shit"?  The Ragged Priest, thats who. Ahem.

Here are some of my favourite things that they have to offer at the moment, and as soon as my student loan comes in I will be going on a spending spree. That is a promise. I'm just so absolutely in love with the different materials and textures that they use, ones you may have normally been afraid to work. I mean come on, look at how stunning the velvet pink skirt is! Plus it is right on the pastel trend! They are definitely worth giving a browse and even Topshop are keen on them right now. If Cara Delevingne is a fan then I'm pretty much more than certain you will become one soon!

Sneak Peak

Heres a little sneak peak to the outfit that I am wearing to my University ball tomorrow night! I'm not the sort of girl who enjoys dressing up so it's been quite tough for me to pick something to wear, on a night out you will find me literally wearing what I wear through out the day. I just find getting ready boring ugh. So I guess in some ways shopping for the ball has been slightly exciting for me, because it's something I'm not used to! I opted for this red dress from Motel which is beautiful. I've never worn red so it's quite daring of me to do so, so hopefully it doesn't look absolutely stupid on me! I'm a huge huge fan of Motel. I've gone for a pair of chunky heels which is a huge swap for my usual Dr Martens. The balls starting at 7 and we're going out after so I thought a chunkier heel would be comfortable for after ball antics. To clash up with the colours I've decided to go for a Jimmy Choo bag in beige, it works so well with the red and gives a more feminine touch to my outfit. I'm going to paint my nails red which is nothing new, I LOVE red nails. And my good old Mac Lipstick is defo going to make a showing, how sassy of me?
